Job description
Assistant Technical Superintendent HSC - Fleet, Oman


As Assistant Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for supporting Technical Superintendent in all technical related issues of an assigned group of HSC passenger vessels located in Muscat, Oman.  

Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee the technical conditions and operational expenses for an assigned group of vessels, especially HSC vessels in the fleet.
• Monitors that all assigned vessels possess the required statutory certification for safe operation in accordance with Class, Flag State requirements, maritime legislation, safety regulations and operational standards
• Monitors the accurate, timely and qualitative execution of all maintenance activities, reviewing the compliance of deliverables from subcontractors with agreements and requirements, in order to ensure optimum asset protection and cosmetic condition of each assigned vessel.
• Identifies elevated risk conditions and circumstances and provides support and guidance
• Responsible for technical-related unplanned off hires, port state control and class inspections.
• Maintain communication with the Operations Department on day-to-day matters in respect of voyage operations.
• Schedule and supervise planned and unplanned repairs, inspections and dry-dockings.
• Responsible for the class status of the vessel and for arranging surveys.
Candidate profile
• Marine Chief Engineer licence 
• Experience with High Speed Crafts and yet propulsion is advantage
• Experience with MTU, Caterpillar, Kamewa machinery
• Experience with aluminium hull vessels
• Experience in ship construction and/or repair, especially in dry-dock conditions
• Knowledge of ISM Code and Safety Management Systems.
• Exceptional communication, planning and organizational skills
• Fluent English (written and verbal)
• Willing to travel extensively and for extended periods of time
• Ready to relocate to mentioned site for longer period.
